The position of Senior Project Planner (EPC) for SPG Steiner is located in on our head office in Siegen, North Rhine Westphalia, Germany. The Senior Project Planner is the single point of contact for the project schedule and is accountable for the schedule quality and reporting requirements of the EPC.

Description:

• Schedule management: the Senior Project Planner is in charge of the overall project schedule management (Level 1 – Level 3) ensuring its quality, accuracy and integration of the available information for the full scope of supply
• Coordination and supervision: the Senior Project Planner is the most senior planner of the project and is in charge of coordination and collaboration with the other planners, document controllers, project engineers and expeditors in order to ensure overall quality and accuracy of the schedule data. The Senior Project Planner will have the responsibility to ensure that the other project planners maintain quality and accuracy of their portion of the plan through regular reviews and will provide help and guidance when faced with challenges
• Project management support: the Senior Project Planner is the “right hand” of the Project Manager and as such will provide him/ her the visibility on activity look-ahead; risks in the schedule; mitigation actions; other as required. The Senior Project Planner will provide relevant reports to Project Management to ensure that all the tools required for making the right decisions (time and budget execution) are available
• Client reporting: the Senior Project Planner will interact with the Client to provide regular schedule updates; periodic reporting; progress and manpower analysis and other ad-hoc information, as required
• Implementation of the integrated project planning: the Senior Project Planner will adhere to the approved processes and proactively drive implementation of new initiatives leading to fully integrated planning

Ihr Profil:

To be successful in this role you will:

•       Have a Bachelor Degree (Engineering/ Math/ Science degree preferred) or equivalent experience
•       Have 6+ years of experience in planning for the Oil and Gas industry or equivalent
•       Have expertise and experience in using Primavera P6 planning tool (Microsoft Project is a plus)
•       Have excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Package (Excel is a must)
•       Willing to travel (at most 20% of the time) for required planning clarification and control activities (SPG offices, Client, Vendors)

Desired Characteristics:

• Clear thinking: Ability to understand the status of a project, technical limitations and opportunities in order to link and maintain the project schedule close to the reality of project execution. The Senior Project Planner will quickly understand the risks and opportunities in the schedule, identify and support the Project Management team to drive appropriate actions
• Expertise: Strong expertise in planning of EPC large projects as well as use of the Primavera P6 planning tool. Previous experience on cryogenic or low temperature industrial solutions is preferred but not essential.
• Motivation and work ethic: High energy and motivation to deliver as per project expectations. Proactive in identifying and providing solutions to the Project Management team
• Leadership & Inclusiveness: The Senior Project Planner will coordinate a team of planners as well as interact with a large group of specialities contributing to the performance of the project. As such strong leadership and great interpersonal skills are required.
